ケチュア語で歌うレナータ・フローレスとQ’pop

ペルーの都市部やデジタルフィードの中で、ケチュア語は博物館の展示物や歴史的な遺物として扱われていない。それはサブウーファー、ポップのフック、ハイパーポップのビルドアップの中を動いている。ここ数年、先住民言語をダンスフロアに直接持ち込むアーティストの波が起きており、アンデスの楽器や伝統リズムと現代アーバン・プロダクション、レゲトン、トラップ、K-POPスタイルを融合させている。ファンや地元メディアからQ-popやアーバン・フュージョンと総称されるこのムーブメントは、現代的なポップの精密さで展開している。

この地元シーンの最前線に立つのがアヴリル・ナバロだ。アヤクーチョ出身のナバロは、15歳の時にLa Voz Kidsで注目を集め、その後2024年末に18歳でシングル「Viaje」でソロアーティストとしてデビュー。自身のスタイルを「ケチュア語によるペルーアーバン・フュージョン」と定義する彼女は、ラテン・グラミー受賞者のグスタヴォ・ラミレスや、アヤクーチョ出身のプロデューサー/DJ、カイフェックスといったビッグネームとコラボしている。そのサウンドはクラブ向けリズムに直結。5曲入りのデビューEP『Mi Eterno Kuyaycha』では、自身が「クンビア」と称する楽曲を提供。ペルーの伝統的なクンビアを再構築し、Los Destellosの「Elsa」などを、プロデューサーKiwanと共に、アーバンパーカッション、アンデス要素、ケチュア語の歌詞とブレンド。さらにMarci la Anomalíaとの「Qamuy Qamuy」などのカットも収録している。

同じくハイエナジーなエレクトロニック・エクスペリメントの道を猛スピードで走るのが、ガルデニア・レイノソのプロジェクト、コリアンカ。2025年2月のシングル「Upallay」は、彼女の初のオリジナル曲で、ハイパーポップのテクスチャー、K-POPのボーカル構造、アンデスのフォークアレンジをシャープに融合。このハイブリッドなアプローチは瞬時にネットで共感を呼び、あるリスナーは動画のコメントで「Me encanra que puedo captar la influencia del kpop pero también reconozco los sonidos de la música andina（K-POPの影響を感じつつ、アンデス音楽のサウンドも認識できるのが大好き）」と記している。

同じエレクトロ＆ポップのパレットを共有するのがソフィ。インターネットカバーからフルスケールのリリースへと移行し、スタジオアルバム『Corazón Imperial』で、スペイン語とケチュア語を交互に使い分ける。2023年10月の「KILLACHKINMI」、2025年3月の「FANTASÍA」といったリリースを通じた進化を辿り、彼女はアヤクーチョや全国の若いオーディエンスと直接つながる、明確なポップアイデンティティを確立している。

Q-popの核となるフレームワークを担っているのが、Lenin Tamayoだ。当初はこのジャンルの唯一の担い手として活動していたTamayoは、韓国ポップのシンクロした振り付け、シャープなメロディー、クリーンなボーカルをアンデスのリズムに組み込んだ。2025年3月、彼はプロジェクトAMARU IIからのリリックビデオ「LA LLAQTA」を公開し、このスタイルの打撃的なアタックとケチュア語の詩をさらに強化した。

北の国境を越えると、エクアドルでもキチュア語の若者ムーブメントが同様の勢いを見せている。オタバロのPegucheコミュニティを拠点とする6人組ユニットMana Maymandaは、母語で現代的な先住民ポップを支え続け、2018年の14曲入りアルバムKashnamariまでそのルーツを遡る。2025年2月にリリースされた「Juyashka Panigu」は、Roberto Lemaが書き、Randall Ballesterosと共にアレンジされたもので、オタバロの生活に根ざしたテーマと、歯切れの良い親しみやすいアレンジを組み合わせ、Grande Liga Recordsで録音された「Ayapa Churi」などの楽曲を含むスタジオカタログを続けている。

この波全体の基盤は、アヤクーチョ出身のRenata Floresに遡る。Floresは2015年、マイケル・ジャクソンの「The Way You Make Me Feel」のケチュア語カバーが220万回以上の再生数を記録し、地元の認識を変えた。ウイルス的な一発屋に留まることなく、Floresはそのサウンドを生々しいラテントラップ、ヒップホップ、レゲトン、エレクトロニックプロダクションへと推し進め、攻撃的なバースの下に伝統的なアンデス楽器を取り入れた。彼女が地元のアーバンシーンに与えた影響は、Wariwillkaの建国200周年記念ラップ曲「Tusuriy (Bailemos)」のようなストリートレベルの現象と並行しており、YouTubeで「Tusuriyチャレンジ」をウイルス的に拡散させ、先住民ラップを全国放送のテレビに直接持ち込んだ。2025年までに、Floresはオリジナルのケチュア語楽曲をメインストリームのプラットフォームに届け、Viña del Marフェスティバルで「Kutitika」を披露した。

Floresはまた、そのサウンドを大陸全体に橋渡しした。2025年3月、彼女はコロラド育ちのメキシコ系先住民ラッパーXiuhtezcatlと組んで「SÍGUEME」をリリース。これは彼のアルバムTONATIUHのために録音されたトラックだ。1年以上かけて制作されたこの曲は、Xiuhtezcatlが南米に赴きPuncupataとアヤクーチョで撮影を行い、現代のヒップホッププロダクションの上にスペイン語、ナワトル語、ケチュア語を織り交ぜている。

サウンドは時折外へと波紋を広げることもある——タマヨは最近、Q-popセットをタイに持ち込み、現地ポップアクトのBerry Berryとのステージコラボを披露した——が、中核となるオーディエンスは依然として地元にいる。それは、KayfexやKiwanとのアヤクーチョでのレコーディングセッション、Avril Navarroのクンビアのベースラインが流れるダンスフロア、そして「Upallay」を発見した10代のヘッドフォンミックスの中に生きている。

Wow this song is so beautiful and powerful! As a Peruvian, I grew up feeling ashamed of my indigenous roots as the “paisanos” are considered lower than lower class in Peru, which is really sad.

Seeing her sing in Quechua and be proud of our indigenous roots was so powerfully liberating to me and I teared up seeing her dance in the traditional clothes.

This song stirs something inside of me and I feel emotional seeing Peru and our culture. Thank you so much for such a transformative song ❤❤❤🇵🇪

Im sick and tired of everyone thinking European features and cultures are better or above other cultures of people of color or just non-european cultures in general. My people are beautiful, and that colored skin is beautiful. Remember how great your ancestors were and how skillfully they survived and thrived in the land. Never feel less than anyone.
