Taiwan's pop is pulling its Indigenous roots onto the dancefloor. Lawis Aow closed a free street party in Taipei's Dongqu shopping district by pairing electronic beats with a live vocal melody, turning the plaza into an open-air electronic party. The 原Way星球 brand staged the night, and coverage called it a street-level Golden Melody festival, with Indigenous artists taking turns on the same stage. Over at Dajia Riverside Park, VOICES 2026 drew large crowds, with WeiBird closing the night beside Karencici, Enno Cheng and Pei-Yu Hung. The viral lists mix the same local names with club acts like Peggy Gou, Fred again.. and Skrillex, so a Taiwan night now sits comfortably between a village song and a festival headliner.
This month the WorldWidePop playlist added three videos, all from Usay Panan: two versions of "Cima Kiso" and "Aray ko Salikaka". One version of "Cima Kiso" comes from the 原Way星球 channel as an IPCF session, so the playlist is following the same Indigenous pop thread that ran through the street party. Her sound mixes world-music elements with contemporary production and intuitive writing, and Kolibri's Taiwan viral playlists already have her trending on social media. The additions show the playlist leaning in close to her work.
Listeners reaching the page are in Singapore and Spain, one comment from each. Keep an eye on the end of the year: Xu Jiaying and TRASH have announced new releases, and the 10.10 Double Ten party in the Xinyi district promises fireworks, drone shows and lasers around Taipei 101.
