Privacy Policy

WorldWidePop (worldwidepop.com) is a music site. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.

What we collect

  • Your account: the username, e-mail address and password you choose when you sign up. Passwords are stored encrypted; we never see them.
  • Signing in with Facebook or Google: if you choose this, we receive your name, e-mail address and profile picture from that service, only to create and sign you in to your WorldWidePop account. We do not post anything on your behalf and do not see your friends, messages or anything else.
  • Newsletter: your e-mail address, if you ask for the news.
  • Notifications: if you turn on alerts, your browser gives us a notification address (no name or e-mail) so we can send new articles, stories, tracks and games.
  • What you do on the site: comments, votes, badges, game scores, saved playlists and lyric suggestions you send us.
  • Cookies: to keep you signed in, remember your settings (sound, language, what you closed), and count visits.

Videos and other services

Music videos play through YouTube’s player, which sets its own cookies under Google’s privacy policy. Pictures and files are served from our own storage on Cloudflare.

What we do not do

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it except with the services that run the site (hosting, e-mail delivery, the sign-in service you chose).

Your choices

  • Change what you posted, and your profile, from your account.
  • Unsubscribe from e-mails with the link in any newsletter; turn off alerts from the same button that turned them on.
  • Delete your account and all its data: see Delete my data.
