Vietnam's sound right now is pop with hip-hop in its spine. Sơn Tùng M-TP's May English-language single with Tyga runs on Afrobeats rhythms, with hip-hop and contemporary pop elements, and the video leans on Vietnamese imagery, so it plays cinematic and still moves a room. Underneath that, V-Rap is the engine. Binz coaches on Rap Việt, which keeps the genre in front of people who never go to a show, and his 2024 EP "Keep Cam Ca" folded rap into bolero. Cherry Radio's October V-Rap round-up is built the same way: loud, lyrical, and full of voices from the same scene.
Start with Sơn Tùng M-TP's "Nơi Này Có Anh", which has logged around 186 million views on the YouTube Vietnam weekly chart. Then go to Binz's "Hit Me Up", the track that hit No. 1 on YouTube Trending, and his "Em", which sits in the Top 50 Vietnam chart for the first week of October. MCK's "Nếu Như Ta Chẳng Còn" is a crowded, generous track, pulled from the long guest list on his second album "HVL". Then there's UPRIZE. Seven members, barely three months past their official debut, and they took "THĂNG" and "EXposure" to the closing ceremony of the 2nd World Culture Festival in Hanoi on 4 October. Finish with LizPanda's "ÁNH TRĂNG CHIẾU ANH" for the walk home.
Keep your eye on UPRIZE. Their fans, the RIZERS, are counting down to the group's first full concert on 12 December 2026, and that will be the first real test of whether this young group can hold a room on its own.
