Wu-Tang Clan’s “C.R.E.A.M.”, the classic from their 1993 debut Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), has a new home in Seoul. For Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, which launched on 23 October with a campaign set on the Korean Peninsula, RZA and Martin Wave of Parasol Music co-produced a remix with three Korean rappers: Lee Young Ji, Jay Park and E SENS, trading lines in English and Korean. The original plays over the game’s opening cinematic, and the remix rolls over the end credits.

The audio appeared on Wu-Tang Clan’s channel on 16 October. The video landed on the eve of the game’s release and has already passed 1.2 million views on Call of Duty Korea’s channel, plus more than 440,000 on Wu-Tang’s own. Directed by Gustavo of Third Eye Video, it follows Lee Young Ji rapping across Seoul, from convenience stores to everyday street corners, cut against the game’s combat footage. The comments are almost all in Korean, and they show how big her home following is. Digital Daily quoted one viewer calling her “a truly outstanding rapper” and the casting “a good choice”.

RZA said it was “incredible to hear the message resonate with a new generation of rappers” on the other side of the world. Activision’s chief marketing officer Tyler Bahl said the remix “fits in perfectly with the tone and the storyline” of the game.

Who is Lee Young Ji?

Born in Seoul in 2002, Lee Young Ji came up the hip-hop way, through rap competitions rather than an idol training system. She won High School Rapper 3 in 2019, reported as the show’s youngest winner, and then took Show Me the Money 11 in 2022. She doesn’t fit the usual K-pop mould. She is as famous for being herself as for her bars: her YouTube channel has about 1.3 million subscribers, she hosts the talk show Not Much Prepared, and she is a regular on tvN’s variety hit Earth Arcade.

The music has kept up. “Small Girl” featuring D.O. went to No. 1 on Korea’s Circle Digital Chart in 2024 and won six music-show trophies, and her first EP, 16 Fantasy, followed in June that year. In 2026 her song “2” with Japan’s Gen Hoshino won Best Cross-Border Collaboration Song at Music Awards Japan. Now she has a verse on one of hip-hop’s most famous beats.

Not Call of Duty’s first Korean link-up

According to Inven, Call of Duty has worked with Korean rappers before: Swings and Giriboy recorded for Black Ops 4. This time the game itself is set in Korea, and the soundtrack follows it there.
