Lexie Liu | 刘柏辛 | Like A Mercedes
Way back in 2015, ( practically old skool!) if you were keeping tabs on the Kpop scene and watching K-Pop 5 the South Korean entertainment competition show that features potential Kpop stars you might have noticed a girl from China that came in 4th place. YG entertainment the Mega entertainment company based in Seoul offered Lexie a deal, but she turned it down.
Fast forward to 2018 and NYC where this June 18, 88Rising and Lexie announced that they had been working together and the now 19 year old singer songwriter announced her premiere release “Like A Mercedes” and uploaded the music video to 88’s YouTube channel.
Chill Vibes
Like many of 88 Rising’s releases, this MV is rooted in melodic RnB and Hip Hop, and Lexie ‘s lyrics are a mixture of English and Chinese describing love and passion riding shotgun with her love interest as they cruise thru a cyber punk landscape in style! After all they are riding crazy “Like a Mercedes”.
“People always say that love is a game, this is actually a modern feeling. Just like you are fascinated by love, you You lose all your feelings and you don’t know if you are in reality or in a virtual world. “Like A Mercedes 让我可以自由地创造和探索新的声音” ( allows me to be free to create and explore new sounds)”
