I was in da nang and hoi Nan for Tết. i had a hard time with the hotels...alot of the reviews are fake or written by the staff on the guests phones...and ive never been catfished so hard by photos not matching reality anywhere else. maybe I just have a bit of a bad attitude or bad luck- but I struggled to find what everyone likes about the place.

Fake reviews and staff pushing for them, sometimes literally on your phone, are really common here, and photos can be way off.
That part's real. It's why my rule is never rent a long-term apartment without seeing it in person, or having someone you absolutely trust see it for you.
Tết is also a tough week to judge it. A lot of local spots close and prices jump. For me it was the opposite of your trip.
I loved Da Nang from day one, and living here made me love it even more. Hope you give it another shot outside Tết.

That is true. I even searched other post to make sure the reviews were accurate. The reviews were not true. I didn’t care for my hotel either. I booked for six days. Something told me to book for only one night and then go search for a hotel in person so I can see for myself.
I’ll definitely go back but find a different hotel. Everything else was great. The city is beautiful.

Wow Ralph was the first person I ever seen dive deep into da nang I had never considered it until his videos from before he went to Bali. I moved to Bali and now back in the states for some career stuff now preparing to move to da nang lol
