Bobby Beatz calls himself, simply, a music producer from Burma. His beats have travelled a long way past it. He is the featured producer on “CRMNL” by Nepali rapper VTEN, a video that has passed 41 million views, and this week his name is in the credits of “PAPI”, the LA ZANG dancehall cut Yangon listeners are passing round.

His catalogue reads like a tour of Myanmar’s trap scene. He produced “SLIME” by Avocado and Zero featuring Yungpunch, which has picked up close to 450,000 views, and “On The Road” with ThirtySix and YoungZwam4Life. This year he put his own name up front with “ANTHEM” featuring O TWIN.

The teacher

Bobby Beatz is also passing the craft on. His channel has about 19,000 subscribers and more than 530 videos, and a good share of them are lessons, many in Burmese. He runs an online beat-making class on FL Studio basics, “FL Studio အခြေခံ တီးလုံး (Beat) တီးနည်း သင်တန်း”. He also posts tutorials on why trap drums don’t bounce and how to make hard trap beats in 2026, plus hands-on reviews of budget MIDI keyboards for producers starting out.

A map of the scene

He also keeps a Myanmar trap playlist that works as a who’s who: Nay, Reload, Double J, Myat Amara Maung, 223 and Jay Stoner. His channel is also home to the video for “12 Yarthi” (12 ရာသီ) by Nay and ReLoad, a Myanmar trap favourite with close to 950,000 views. For anyone new to Yangon’s underground, it is a good place to start.
