Nagaland's pop scene is wider than one sound. Virie's "Lost" won Best Pop Song at the 11th Music Awards of Nagaland, and the same awards list gave out prizes for electronic and rap work, so the local floor has room for more than pop. Across the border, the Tetseo Sisters' Punjabi cover of "Dil Diya Gallan" went viral online after it came out on YouTube, pulling folk voices into film-song territory. Further east, the RADII mix runs about thirty minutes of underground electronic sound, built around Beijing emo rapper Bloodz Boi. And BaBa ZuLa's album XXX, Turkish psychedelia wired into dub and electronics, topped the World Music Charts Europe for October 2026.
This month the WorldWidePop playlist added nothing new, so October is about the nine videos already on it. The newest uploads show the mix at work: a GAKKU TV track and a Kazakh anthem from TOI DUMAN sit beside Virie's "Down That Road," with Virie and Zaza featuring Temjen Jamir. Kazakh and Naga pop share a room here, which is the point of the list.
Listeners are mostly writing from Kazakhstan, Türkiye and Azerbaijan. Kazakh TV has a history of splitting audiences between modern and folk-leaning music, so that tension matters for what comes next. Keep an eye on dub-electronic crossovers like BaBa ZuLa and on the Bloodz Boi-style underground sets. Those are the signals pointing toward where the floor goes.
